From numbers to brushstrokes

I'm a live wedding and event painter based on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and there is nothing I love more than capturing a moment while it's still happening — and turning it into something you'll keep forever.

Ever since I was a kid I had a paintbrush in my hand, trying to capture my backyard or my grandma's garden. But art felt like a hobby, not a plan — so I earned a degree in mathematics and statistics and stepped into a stable corporate career in the pharmaceutical world.

It was logical and dependable, and eventually, creatively draining. When the pandemic sent me home, I picked my brushes back up — pet portraits, paintings for friends — and slowly fell back in love with making art.

The turning point came while I was planning my own wedding. I stumbled on a planner looking for someone to paint guests live, and even though I'd never done it, I raised my hand. I taught myself through practice portraits, and a generous artist mentored me through that very first event. I haven't looked back since.
